Awesome Kim ‘Restart’ Kim Ha-Sung 1-hit, 1-ballot ‘multi-hit’ performance…SD 4-5 disappointing reverse loss

A day after his 16-game hitting streak was snapped, Kim Ha-seong’s hot streak is back.

Kim went 1-for-4 with a walk and a hit in the leadoff spot in the lineup against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 Major League Baseball game at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday (July 14).

With a 16-game hitting streak going into the game against Arizona on Dec. 12, Kim tied Choo Shin-soo (now of the SSG Landers) for the most consecutive games with a hit by a Korean major leaguer.

Kim’s streak ended the day before (Nov. 13) when he went 0-for-4, but he didn’t stay silent for long.

In the top of the first inning, Kim hit a fastball with a 3-ball-1-strike advantage against Arizona starter Brandon Potts for a two-run double to left field. It was Kim’s 17th double of the season. 스포츠토토

He later scored on a Fernando Tatis Jr. single to center field.

In the second inning, Kim drew a walk to load the bases. This time, however, he was unable to reach home as Tatis Jr. grounded out to shortstop and Juan Soto grounded out to second base.

Later, in the fourth inning, with runners on first and second, Kim was hit by an outside fastball. In the sixth, he struck out on three pitches against reliever Miguel Castro.

In his final at-bat in the eighth inning, he grounded out to third base.

Kim remained at .286 (109-for-381) for the season.

Meanwhile, San Diego was held scoreless in the bottom of the eighth and ninth innings to fall to 4-5. Seth Lugo started and pitched five innings of two-run ball, but the bullpen came up short.
