Heo Yul (Guangzhou) leads the attack for Korea’s first match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Hwang Sun-hong’s Olympic football team will face Qatar in their first Group B match of the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers on Saturday at the Changwon Football Center.

With Heo Yul up front, the midfield will feature Uhm Ji Sung (Gwangju), Lee Jin Young (Daegu), Jeon Byung Kwan (Daejeon), Oh Jae Hyuk (Jeonbuk), and Kang Hyun Mook (Gimcheon).

In defense, Lee Tae-seok (Seoul), Cho Sung-kwon (Gimpo), Cho Woo-je (Busan), and Min Kyung-hyun (Incheon) will start.

Baek Jong-beom (Seoul) will wear the goalkeeping gloves 안전놀이터.

Overseas players such as forward Jung Sang-bin (Minnesota) and midfielder Kwon Hyuk-kyu (Celtic) will start from the bench.

The top four teams from each of the 11 groups will advance to the U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar next April/May.

South Korea’s first opponent in the qualifiers, Qatar, will automatically qualify for next year’s tournament as hosts.

As such, the result of this match will not affect the group standings.

The AFC U-23 Asian Cup will also serve as the final qualifier for the Asian Zone at next year’s Paris Olympics.
