White ‘credited with Boston win,’ but what’s the new record?

Derrick White (28) is contributing to the Boston Celtics with his high efficiency.

White scored 17 points in Boston’s 116-99 victory in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday night, as the Celtics faced an 0-3 deficit.

After a strong showing in Game 1 against Miami, White didn’t do much in Games 2 and 3. However, he jumped in Game 4 with 16 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks on 50% (5-of-10) field goal shooting, 42.9% (3-of-7) three-point shooting, and 100% (3-of-3) free throw shooting. 메이저사이트

Thus, White became the first player to shoot 50% from the field, 45% from three, and 95% or better from the free throw line in a playoff game while scoring 200+ points. In 17 games this postseason, White has averaged 12.6 points per game on 50.3% shooting from the field, 45.3% shooting from three, and 95.8% shooting from the free throw line.

With such efficiency, White has taken some of the heavy lifting off of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, and along with Tatum’s explosion and the resurgence of Grant Williams, White was a key factor in the Game 4 win.

Boston is trying to be the first team to reverse a 3-0 series deficit. To do so, the Celtics will need the one-two punch of Tatum and Brown, as well as a big game from their trusty big man, White.

Meanwhile, Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, which will decide the fate of the Celtics’ season, will take place on April 26 at TD Garden, Boston’s home arena.
