World No. 1 Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) booked the championship by beating players from LIV Golf, sponsored by Saudi Arabia.
McIlroy won the 3rd round of the DP World Tour (formerly European Tour) Hero Dubai Desert Classic (total prize money of 9 million dollars) held at the Emirates Golf Club (par 72, 7428 yards) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 29th (local time). He swung a 7 under par 65 strokes. McIlroy, who recorded an interim total of 15 under par 201, was named the sole leader.
There is some margin as it is three strokes away from Dan Bradbury and Callum Sinkwin (above England), who are tied for second place (intermediate total, 12 under par, 204 strokes). Due to bad weather, the schedule was postponed by one day, so the winner will be determined in the final game on the 30th.
McIlroy, who started in a tie for seventh place by two strokes, played together with LIV golf player Bernd Wiesberger (Austria). McIlroy, along with Tiger Woods, is at the forefront of the PGA Tour’s archers, and is confronting players who have moved on to LIV golf. 안전놀이터
McIlroy began to overwhelm Wiesberger with four consecutive birdies on holes 1 through 4. McIlroy had the best shot feeling that day. In particular, he reduced the number of strokes by taking the lead with the ‘awl iron shot’ with a green hit rate of 77.8%. The number of putts per hole was good at 1.5. If McIlroy wins this tournament, it will be his 15th win on the DP World Tour.
Patrick Reed (USA) and Ian Poulter (England), ‘LIV Golf Members’ who had a verbal battle with McIlroy before the opening of the tournament, and Victor Perez (France), who won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship last week, tied for 4th place (intermediate total 11 under par 205 strokes) was seated in
